About Every Moment Aware

Embodied practices to promote mindfulness, joy and intentional living.

Let’s return to a more meaningful way to live and connect with one another. A way guided by the wisdom of nature and our intuitive self. This is the intention behind the humble offerings of Every Moment Aware.

There is no structure or set guidelines. Every Moment Aware is a process of self-discovery that explores practices of yoga, tea ceremony, meditation, reconnecting with nature, deep listening and beyond.

Let’s take this journey together – from the mind back to the heart.

About Courtnay

I come to this work with a genuine desire to be of service to others, to share what I personally practice and have benefited  from. It is my intention to create a supportive community where we share and grow together. I believe that we all have something to learn and something to teach. It is through our open hearts and minds that we can empower one another and heal together.

Yoga has been at the core of my path for nearly two decades. In 2019, I became a certified RYT 500 yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. Beyond that, I have completed certified training programs with the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre and Prison Yoga Project.  I am experienced in teaching hatha, vinyasa, Iyengar-inspired therapeutic yoga, trauma-informed yoga, restorative, yin, pranayama, and meditation. I take a healing approach, considering each student’s physical, mental and emotional needs and abilities.

While yoga is the foundation of my movement practice, it is with tea that I have discovered the art of stillness. I find that the tea plant itself is a great teacher. The more I sit in meditation with a bowl of tea, the more I can refine my listening to its subtle wisdom. One of tea’s greatest lessons is to slow down and simply be. Tea ceremony is an invitation to mindful presence.

I am a student of traditional Japanese tea ceremony in the Urasenke tea school. I have also studied traditional tea making methods with the indigenous Red Dzao community in Northern Vietnam – a region where tea trees grow wild and are an important part of the local culture and livelihood. In 2026, I launched my small tea company Tea is MA ι–“.
